Smethport- Keith E. Dunkle, 85, of 106 W. King St., Smethport, died Saturday (February 13, 2010) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
He was born March 30, 1924 in Clermont, a son of Roy and Beatrice Church Dunkle. On June 5, 1959, in Crosby, PA, he married Carolyn L. Stark, who survives.
Mr. Dunkle worked for Bethlehem Steel, was a truck driver, and was the Smethport Borough Street Commissioner for 26 ½ years. After he retired from the Borough, he owned and operated Keith's Fix It Shop for small engine repairs.
He loved to camp at Sunset Vue Campgrounds in Smethport and taking trips to Lancaster, PA. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed all of the Boston Terrier dogs he owned.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by
three sons: Daniel Dunkle of Bradford, PA, William Dunkle and Steven (Vicky) Dunkle of Smethport, PA
one daughter: Bonnie Hartzell of Rixford
several grandchildren, including Shawn and Steven Dunkle, great grandchildren; Jacob, Caden, Bre-Ana, Patience, and Shaylee Dunkle, and several other great grandchildren
3 brothers: Roland Dunkle of Crosby, Arlington and Wilbur Dunkle of Smethport
4 sisters: Vesta Smith of Renovo, Violet Kelly of Morgantown WV, Minnie Herzog of Port Allegany, and Ruby Burt of Smethport.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Dunkle of Renovo, a precious granddaughter, Shaina L. Dunkle on Feb. 26, 2001, and a great grandson, Camaron J. Dunkle.
Honoring Keith's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
