Obituary of William M. Ladlee, Sr.

Smethport - William M. Ladlee, Sr., 74, of Smethport, died Sunday (September 20, 2009) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.He was born June 10, 1935 in Smethport, a son of Roland R. and Florence Fedor Ladlee. On May 16, 1954, in Port Allegany, PA, he married Doris E. Hackett, who survives.Mr. Ladlee attended Smethport schools and was a well known logger and wood cutter in the area. He worked as a contract logger for Hammermill Co.In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived bythree sons: William M. Ladlee, Jr. of MAINE, Wayne (Edithe) Ladlee, Sr. of Smethport, PA, Todd Ladlee, Sr. of Smethport, PA11 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchildtwo sisters: Loretta (James) Winston of Melbourne, FL, Harriet (Allen) Claxton of Satellite Beach, FLtwo brothers: James (Laura) Ladlee of Smethport, PA, Donald (Vicky Dunnavant) Ladlee of Melbourne, FL; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim E. Ladlee, on January 7, 2006, 3 sisters, Nora Ladlee, Diana Snyder, and Patricia Causer.Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove.Memorials, if desired, can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
