Obituary - John Robert Frison ____________________________________________________________________________Port Allegany - John Robert "Bob" Frison, 86, of Port Allegany, died Thursday (September 24, 2009) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.He was born Oct 3, 1922 in Hammond, IN, the son of Jacob (Jack) S. and Bernice M. Ledden Frison, On Feb. 19, 1946 in Mt. Alton, PA; he married Dorothy Irene Miller, who survives.Mr. Frison was a 1940 graduate of Eldred High School. He work 46 years in consumer finance and banking, retiring in December 1987 from Citizen Trust Company, Port Allegany, where he was branch manager. He continued as a member of the Port Allegany Advisory Board until the time of his death.He was a member of the Rotary Club of Port Allegany since 1956 and served 14 years as treasurer and two terms as president. He was a member of the Port Allegany Chamber of Commerce since 1954 for which he had been president, secretary and director. He had been active in the Boy Scouts for 17 years where he served as a local leader and on the executive committee of the Elk Lick and Allegheny Highlands Councils. He was a charter member of Port Allegany Community Television in 1981 and served as treasurer until 1992. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries for 22 years. He was a charter member of the Friends of the S. W. Smith Library and had served as treasurer since 1970. He was a charter member of the Port Allegany Industrial Development Corporation in 1964 and served several years as secretary and director of its successor, the Port Allegany Area Economic Development Corporation. He was also a charter member in 1968 of the Tri-Area Development Corporation which he served as president for many years. He was a McKean County representative on the Six County Private Industry Council of the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission from 1988 to 1995, and was given the Outstanding PIC Member Award in 1992. He was a member of P.E.E.R. Program ar Sena KeanHe was a member of Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church where he had served on the Pastoral and the Finance Councils and as a prayer leader and lector.In addition to his wife, he is survived byOne daughter: Linda (Kim) Jackson of Port Allegany, PA three sons: Bradley J.(Connie) Frison of Vienna, VA, James R.(Debbie) Frison of Arlington, VA, PA, W. Stephen (Mary Beth) Frison of Port Allegany, PASeven Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildrenOne sister: Mary E. Irwin of Largo, FLHe was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Edith, one son Bruce Frison, one daughter Mary Ellen Frison, two stepbrothers and two stepsister. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA. A Christian wake service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 in St. Gabriel's Church with the Rev Charles R. Schmitt as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Port Allegany. Memorials may be made to the S.W.
