Obituary of Dorothy Irene Frison

Port Allegany- Dorothy Irene (Miller) Frison, 87, of Port Allegany, died Tuesday (November 3, 2009) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, following a lengthy illness.She was born Feb 22, 1922 in Bradford, a daughter of William and Mary Orpha Black Miller. On February 19, 1946, at Mt. Alton, PA, she married J.Robert "Bob" Frison, who died September 24, 2009.Mrs. Frison was a 1939 graduate of St. Bernard High School, Bradford, and attended Westbrook Academy, Olean, NY. After graduating from Westbrook, she was employed by W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co., Bradford, as a secretary until 1948, when she retired to dedicate herself to her family.She was a member of St.Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, Port Allegany, and was a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Womens Club for many years, where she served on various committees. She also served for a number of years as a den mother for Cub Scout Pack #561, Port Allegany, and was a member of the Friends of the S.W. Smith Library, participating in the Friends card series annually. She was an avid Bridge player, and she was also a long time member of the Democratic Women of Eastern McKean..She is survived byone daughter: Linda S. (Kim) Jackson of Port Allegany, PA three sons: Bradley J. (Connie) Frison of Vienna, VA; James R. (Debbie) Frison of Arlington, VA; W. Stephen (Mary Beth) Frison of Port Allegany, PA7 grandchildren; Valerie Jackson, Brent Jackson, Andrew Frison, Lori Frison, Scott Frison, Natalie Frison, and Rachel Frison; 2 great grandchildren; Ivy Kramer and Forrest Kramer one sister: Mary Lou Rich of Kane, PA, ne brother: A. Donald (Pauline) Miller of Knapp Creek, NY; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband of 63 years, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen Frison, and a son, Bruce E. Frison.Visitation will be held on Friday Nov. 6, 2009 from 9:30-10:30am, at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 Main St., Port Allegany. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am in St Gabriel's Church with the Rev. Charles R. Schmitt as celebrant.
