Obituary of Kenneth W. Strope

Port Allegany -Kenneth W. Strope, 79, of Port Allegany, died Saturday (November 1, 2014) in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. He was born May 5, 1935 in Yardley, PA, a son of Earl E. and Mary Strope. On March 12, 1960 in Newtown, PA, he married Jane Jones, who preceded him in death. Mr. Strope was a graduate of Yardley High School and worked as a steelworker for U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills, PA. He is survived by: two sisters: Rose Mary Bottke of Fredericksburg, VA and Madeline Terry of Tampa, FL one nephew: Mike Jones of Port Allegany, PA two nieces: Terri Taft of Williamson NY and Jackie Quick, of Palmyra, NY. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014, from 2-4PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, where a memorial service will be held at 4 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. James A. Kazimer, pastor of the First Church of God, Eldred, officiating. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
