Obituary of Nadine Jean Norton

Smethport - Nadine Jean Norton, 80, of Smethport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday (December 10, 2014), while living as a resident at Lakeview Senior Care & Living Ctr., Smethport. She was born Sept. 13, 1934 in Olean, NY, a daughter of Carl and Margaret Howard Gardner. On July 6, 1973, in the West Branch United Methodist Church of Bradford, she married Charles Boyd Norton, who died January 5, 1994. Mrs. Norton was a graduate of Bradford High School and was a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family. She was a member of the Rixford Evangelical Church, where she taught Sunday School and played the organ and piano. She later became a member of the East Smethport United Christian Church, where she was a former member of the Mission Society and Missions Committee. She is survived by one daughter: Tammy L. (Ernie) Johnson of Smethport one son: Charles D. (Deborah) McAndrew of Rochester, NY 2 step sons: Terry (Marjorie) Norton of Eldred and Larry (Sharon) Norton of Smethport. 13 Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren one sister: Beverly Ayers of Bradford, PA In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Steve McAndrew, on May 23, 1959, two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, from 10-11A.M., in the East Smethport United Christian Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M., in the church, with the Rev. Allen D. Young, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the East Smethport United Christian Church.
