Obituary of Richard E. Bova

Port Allegany - Richard E. Bova, 83, of, Port Allegany, died Sunday (January 24, 2016) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford. He was born Dec 4, 1932 in Duke Center, a son of William and Lila Hayes Bova. On September 15, 1951 in Rew, PA, he married Loraine J. Moore, who died January 27, 2014. Mr. Bova was a 1950 graduate of Otto High School and attended West Chester College where he played football. Mr. Bova was a electrician, employed by Pittsburgh Corning, Port Allegany where he was Superintendent of the electrical shop and later was maintenance superintendent. He worked at PC for more than 31 years retiring in 1994. Mr. Bova enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid football fan. His teams were the Buffalo Bills and Notre Dame. When it came to baseball, there was only one team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the ski patrol at Denton Hill. He belonged to the Smethport Country Club, Indian Echo Golf Course and the Veterans Club of Port Allegany. He was very inventive and holds a patent in his name. He was most proud of his grandchildren and could be found at all their sporting events. He is survived by four daughters: Susan (Tony) Flint, Joy "Bunky" (Mark) Barnard, Jill (Jeff) Stuckey all of Port Allegany, PA and Shana Bova of Monaca, PA two sons: Bradley (Marti) Bova of Port Allegany, PA, and Barry (Dawn) Bova of Bellevue, OH 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren a special friend Norma Rosenswie of Eldred, PA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife two brothers Bernard and Donald Bova and two sisters Bernice Hartzell and Florence Ambuske. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 28, 2016 from 2 PM - 7 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany, PA. Funeral and committal service will be held Friday, January 29 at 11:00 am from the United Methodist Church Of Port Allegany, Port Allegany with the Rev. Randall Headley, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
