Obituary of Benjamin H. VanSickles

Port Allegany - Benjamin H. VanSickles, Jr., 71, of Roulette, died Sunday (April 17, 2016) in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. He was born June 5, 1944 in Roulette, a son of Benjamin H. and Irene J. Kester VanSickles, Sr. On June 10, 1967, in Port Allegany, PA, he married Rebecca Richner, who survives. Mr. VanSickles was a 1963 graduate of Port Allegany High School and worked for Pittsburgh Corning in Port Allegany for 40 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, the Street Dreams Car Club of Bradford, and he enjoyed showing his classic cars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son: Shane VanSickles of Roulette, PA three sisters: Kathryn T. Green of Coudersport, Elaine L. (Ricky) Shavalier of Port Allegany, and Jennie Lee (Victor) Marvin of Ceres, NY two brothers: Albert A. VanSickles of Coudersport and Darrell F. (Donna) VanSickles of Port Allegany, four nieces and eleven nephews, and one Aunt, Ethlyn Hawver-Ford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew, David Shavalier. At Benjamin's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
