Obituary of Joyce M. Niece

Port Allegany - Joyce M. Niece, 81, of Port Allegany, died unexpectedly, Tuesday (May 17, 2016) at her residence. She was born March 13, 1935 in Catasauqua, a daughter of Herman and Mary Morris Hissim. On Aug. 25, 1956, in Durham, PA, she married Harry W. Niece, who died June 3, 2012. Mrs. Niece was a graduate of Nockamixon High School in Revere, PA. Mrs. Niece had worked as a secretary for the Regal Paper Co. in Milford, as well as a clerk for the Port Allegany Borough. She was a member of VFW Post #6391 Women's Auxiliary and the Port Allegany Senior Center. She loved and enjoyed her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She is survived by: one daughter: Anne M. (H Michael) Niece-Clevenger of Lenoir, NC one son: William E. "Bill" (Kate) Niece of Port Allegany one grandson: Jeremy (Andrea) Niece of Port Allegany one granddaughter: Danielle (Jerimiah) Frederick of Pittsburgh, PA four great-grandsons: Mason & Axel Frederick and Brayton & Fynn Niece. two sisters: Ruby Kocher of Effort, PA, and Ellen Seese of Easton, PA one brother: Dale Hissim of Florida In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Herman Hissim. Honoring Joyce's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22 at 2:00 pm from the Port Allegany Veterans Memorial Home, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Randall Headley, Pastor of the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post #6391 Woman's Auxiliary of Port Allegany, Port Allegany Ambulance Service, or a charity of the donor's choice.
