Obituary of Barbara Jean Chase Foley

Smethport - Barbara Jean Chase Foley, 68, of Smethport, died Monday (July 18, 2016) in the Olean General Hospital, Olean. She was born April 5, 1948 in Olean, NY, a daughter of Kenneth B. and Phyllis J. Brown Chase. On October 16, 1971, in Smethport, she married John "Jack" Foley, who died on December 16, 2001. Barbara was a graduate of Smethport High School and attended Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo, NY, where she received her Associate Degree. She worked for McKean County Career Link in Bradford for 41 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church of Smethport. She is survived by one daughter: April N. (Daniel) Benjamin of Smethport, PA one granddaughter: Faith N. Benjamin one sister: Susan Chase Harris of Dallas, NC one brother: Timothy G. Chase of NY two nieces: Christine Langfitt and Cheryl (Michael) Overkamp. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Elizabeth Church, 307 Franklin St., Smethport, PA 16749.
