Obituary of Dorothy A. Shunk

Smethport - Dorothy A. Shunk, 79, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (November 6, 2016) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born June 7, 1937 in Keating Summit, a daughter of Chester and Ethel Pelchey Haynes. On April 30, 1955, she married James Rinamon, who died on Oct. 25, 1984. She then married Robert Grimes on May 3, 1986, in Port Allegany. He passed away on May 28, 1991. She then married Donald E. Shunk on Sept.5, 1992, who survives. Dorothy was a homemaker and a very talented artist. She was a member of the East Smethport United Christian Church and the Doll Club of Hinsdale, NY. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by: two daughters: Janet (Jerry) Russell of Smethport and Laurie (Kevin) Burford of Port Allegany two sons: Henry Rinamon and Kenneth (Margie) Rinamon, both of Smethport many grandchildren and great-grandchildren three sisters: Vernice Burtron and Florence Rossman, both of Coudersport, and Eleanor Sebring of Grand Junction, CO one brother: Harry Haynes of State College, PA In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held on Thursday, at 11 A.M., with the Rev. Allen D. Young, pastor of the East Smethport United Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
