Obituary of Doris Eleanor Ordiway

Smethport - Doris Eleanor Schofield Ford Ordiway, 91, of Smethport, died Sunday (December 25, 2016) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born July 12, 1925 in Camden, NJ, a daughter of Norman and Mary E. Shaw Schofield. In 1944, she married Richard Urial Ford, who died in 1960. On July 15, 1963, in Essex, MD, she married Lionel D. “Skip” Ordiway, who survives. Mrs. Ordiway was a graduate of Bradford High School. She worked at Viko, then Ethan Allen of Eldred for several years. She then worked for Case Cutlery of Bradford, retiring in 1988. Doris loved doing crafts and crocheting. She loved reading, going camping with Skip, and anything “Scooby-Doo”. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a former avid bowler. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Eleanor Montgomery of Smethport, PA, Patricia (Bruce) Moses of New Eagle, PA, and Phyllis (Chuck) Richardson of Olean, NY two sons: William (Sandra) Ford and Gerald (Cheryl Razey) Ford, both of Smethport, PA 16 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Norman and Robert Schofield, 1 sister, Edna Tyger, and 2 grandchildren, Jeramie Ford and Damen Moses. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, with the Rev. Bruce Moses, officiating. Burial will be in the Bells Run Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Sena Kean Activities Dept., 17083 Rt. 6, Smethport, PA 16749, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
