Obituary of Janet Adele Callihan

Port Allegany - Janet A. Callihan, 87, of, Myrtle Beach, SC, died Monday (January 30, 2017) at her home in Myrtle Beach. She was born Jun 7, 1929 in Olean, a daughter of Eugene and Signe Johnson Chase. On Sept. 18, 1948 in Falconer, NY, she married Russell D. Callihan, who died March 26 2008. Mrs. Callihan was a graduate of Falconer High School Mrs. Callihan was a home maker attending to the need of her family She was an active volunteer working as a greeter at Ohio State University and for Mercy Hospice in Myrtle Beach, SC. She is survived by one son: Steven (Teresa) Callihan of Myrtle Beach, SC 3 Grandchildren, Erin (Rodney III) Danco; Shannon Callihan; and Ryan (Molly) Callihan 2 Great Grandsons, Rodney Danco IV and Declan Danco. Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday Feb. 9, 2017 from 6-8PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany, PA where funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm with the Rev. Thomas Brown, Pastor of Saint Mary's, Sartwell, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Sartwell. In leau of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Beacon Hospice at 3959 Highway 17 Bypass, Suite D, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 or St. Mary's Cemetery Fund, c/o Clair Hawver 175 Long Hollow Road, Turtlepoint PA 16750.
