Port Allegany - Alene E. Black, 83, of Port Allegany, passed away Tuesday (April 9, 2024) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.
She was born May 2, 1940 in Austin, the daughter of Edgar and Julia (Reed) Crandall.On November 24, 1990, in Coudersport, PA, she married Donald L. Black, who died November 26, 2022.
Mrs Black was a 1959 graduate of Austin High School
Mrs. Black was employed at Emporium Specialities in Austin and at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in the maintenance department. She loved doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family
She is survived by:
Three children: Gary Joseph (Sheila) Foust of Coudersport, Dawn (Randy) Gee of Mina, PA and Brian (Mike Bagley) Foust of Port Allegany
Three grandchildren: McKenna Gee, Dylan (Katie Jo) Foust, and Trevor Foust
Three great grandchildren: Aria, Juliana and Keegan
and several nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, John Crandall.
Visitation and services will be held privately with the family. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
