Smethport - Donna Mae Payne, 85, of Rixford, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (December 24, 2024) at her residence.

She was born April 20, 1939 in Aiken, PA, the daughter of Samuel and Hattie (Dickie) Neely. On Sept. 6, 1958, in Bradford, PA, she married Richard E. Payne, who survives.

Mrs. Payne was a graduate of Smethport High School class of 1957. She had worked at Corning Glass in Bradford for some time and later babysat children in the community for many years.

Donna attended the Rixford Evangelical Church for many years with the last 16 years attending Sawyer Evangelical Church in Bradford. Under the direction of Rev. Cecil Ross, she held positions as Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School teacher at the Rixford Evangelical Church. She had a compassionate burden for missionaries and supported them for many years. Donna also loved to cook for her family at gatherings.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by:

Two sons: Richard R. Payne of Clear Spring, MD and Roger (Kerry) Payne of Rixford,PA

One daughter: Valorie (Jeff) Coast of Bradford, PA

Three grandchildren: Dakota (Bri) Payne of Bradford, Seth (Alicia) Coast of Rochester, NY, and Brady Payne of Bradford

One great grandchild: Bryar E. Payne

And many nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by eleven siblings.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 11AM-12 Noon at Sawyer Evangelical Church, 777 S. Kendall Ave., Bradford, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon, with the Rev. Homer Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
