Obituary of Ronald W. Johnson

Port Allegany - Ronald W. Johnson, 73, of Port Allegany, passed away Saturday (February 22, 2025) at UPMC-Williamsport.

 

He was born April 19, 1951 in Port Allegany, the son of Roy and Wava (Strang) Johnson. On November 1, 1997, in Jamestown, NY, he married Deborah Finnemore, who survives.

 

Ron was a graduate of Port Allegany High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973.

 

Mr. Johnson was employed for over 30 years at originally known as Pierce Glass Co., now Ardagh Group of Port Allegany.

 

He was a life member of the Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460, Port Allegany VFW and the Blue Lodge #505 F&AM of Port Allegany.

 

In addition to his wife, Deborah, he is survived by:

Nieces: Kylie Buck of Philadelphia, Samantha Buck and Kelsey Buck, both of Jamestown, NY

Great nieces and nephews: Terry “TJ” Davis, Arianna Davis, Leo Andrews, Myla Davis

Godchildren: Rachel Baker of Texas and Anthony Amoroso of Jamestown, NY

Sister-in-law: Diane Buck of Jamestown, NY

Cousin: Paula Cowburn of Smethport

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Keith L. Johnson.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 11 AM to 1PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 Main St., Port Allegany, where services will be held at 1PM with the Rev. Jim Cannistraci, officiating.  Burial will be in the Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.

.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 1PM on March 15, 2025 at the Moose Lodge, 35 Pearl Street,  Port Allegany. Military Honors will be accorede at that time.
