Port Allegany - John F. Laktash, 79, of Cuba, NY, passed away Sunday (March 23, 2025) at Olean General Hospital, Olean.
He was born February 18, 1946 in Smock, PA the son of Anthony and Sarah Bloom Laktash, Sr.
Mr. Laktash attended school in Smock, PA then entered the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War
Mr. Laktash worked at a variety of jobs over the years, He loved hunting, fishing and was a avid mechanic.
He is survived by three brothers; Anthony Laktash, Jr.of Eldred PA, Larry (Deborah) Laktash of Smethport PA, and Rev. Roger (Susanne) Laktash of Port Allegany PA.
One step-son; William Maybee of Salamanca NY
One step-daughter; Danielle Maybee of Salamanca NY.
One Step-grandson Hudson Maybee
Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents
There will be no visitation.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time and place to be announced
