Obituary of Linda C. Huntington

Smethport - Linda C. Huntington, 74, of East Smethport, passed away Monday (April 14, 2025) at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.

 

She was born June 3, 1950 in Kane, PA, the daughter of Wesley and Katharine (Abbey) Eckstrom. On August 7, 1982, in Smethport, PA, she married Gary C. Huntington, who died November 7, 1999.

 

Linda was a graduate of Smethport Class of 1968.  She had worked at several locations in the area. She worked at Jaguar Manufacturing in Smethport for 17 and a half years, until it closed, the former Widman’s Store in Smethport, and then for Case Cutlery in Bradford for 25 years, retiring in 2014. She was co-manager of the Pink Elephant resale shop in Smethport up until she became ill.

 

Linda was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Smethport and was a former member of their Altar Guild.

 

She is survived by:

Two stepdaughters: Phyllis Repko in Virginia and Nicole Nolan of Olean, NY

Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren

Two step brothers: David and Paul Comes, both of Smethport

Three step sisters: Judy Lowe of Eldred, Vicki Bickford and Ginni Lunn, both of Smethport.

And several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two step sons, one step daughter, one step brother, and one step sister.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, from 10-11 AM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 602 W. Main St., Smethport, where funeral services will begin at 11AM with the Rev. Chris O'Connor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
