Smethport - Janet L. Kelley, 67, of Eldred, passed away Sunday (June 1, 2025) at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

She was born August 12, 1957 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Benjamin D. and Mary (Austin) Bickford.

Jan was a graduate of Smethport Area High School Class of 1975 and worked at several different jobs over the years. Her last occupation was at Northeastern Industrial in Bradford, PA.

She was a member of the Eldred American Legion and the Eldred Vets Club.

She is survived by:

One son: Mike (Jessie Armour) Hook of Eldred

One sister: Dianne L. Gallegos of Smethport

Two brothers: William L. (Deana) Bickford of Smethport and Edward D. Bickford of Bradford

And several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald J. “DJ” Calhoun, and one sister, Karen L. Higley, a sister in law, Beverly Bickford.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, from 10-11AM in the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, where a memorial service will begin at 11AM in the church, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Farmers Valley. A luncheon will follow the services at the church.  A Celebration of Life for Janet will be at the Eldred Legion on July 12, 2025 at 1PM. All are invited to attend.
