Smethport - Ruby Marlene Burt, 82, of Smethport, passed away Saturday (July 5, 2025) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport, after a brief illness.

She was born September 14, 1942 in Clermont, PA, a daughter of Arthur Roy and Beatrice Faye (Church) Dunkle. On December 4, 1970, in Port Allegany, PA, she married Wayne Martin Burt, who died April 1, 1986.

Ruby, along with her husband Wayne, owned and operated the Bucktail Inn in Crosby, PA for many years.  After moving on from the Bucktail, she was employed in the deli at the former Market Basket of Smethport.

Ruby enjoyed visiting with her family, doing puzzles, Word Search books and listening to country music.

She is survived by two sons: Craig (Pamela) Burt of Emporium and Roy (Melodie) Burt of Smethport

Stepchildren: Debbie Faucher, David and Dwayne Burt

Grandchildren: Jessica Burt, Brittany Work, Ann Burt and Brooklyn Burt

One brother: Wilbur Dunkle

One sister: Minnie Herzog

along with several nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Troy, brothers Arlie, Keith, Kenny and Dale Dunkle and sisters Vesta Smith and Violet Kelly.

There will be no visitation. Services will be held privately. Burial will be in the Clermont Cemetery.
