Smethport - Sharon L. Pontecorvo, 76, of Smethport, passed away Thursday (July 24, 2025) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.

She was born February 21, 1949 in Kane, PA, the daughter of Stephen and Carol (Jenkins) Metro. She married Neil R. Pontecorvo, who survives.

Sharon had worked as realtor for some time, but went on to breed miniature horses, which became her life passion. She enjoyed the time she raised and trained horses.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:

Two sons: James King of North Carolina and Jesse King of San Diego, CA

Three sisters: Carole Williams of Smethport, Cheryl Willis of Johnsonburg, PA and Lori Gasbarre of Coudersport

And several nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Metro.

There will be no visitation or services.
