Greenwood, IN--Gertrude A. "Gerta" Noble (nee Boyington) of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away after a lengthy illness.

She was born August 12, 1933, in Dickinson Center, NY, to Adrian L. and Norma L. (Wood) Boyington.

In 1969, she moved to Indianapolis where she met her husband, Benny Lee Noble, while working at the Indianapolis Star. They were married in 1978 and he passed away July 1, 2008.

Gerta was predeceased by her parents and her previous husband, Gerald E. Riggs, and second husband, Benny Lee Noble.

Survivors include her niece, Jacqueline Tarbox of Roulette, PA; two great nephews: Stephen (Marie) and Dr. Michael Tarbox, both of Smethport, PA; a great-great niece, Sutton Isabelle Tarbox of Smethport, PA; and cousins Faythe Mattern of Tuscon, AZ, Cindy Wood of Morrisonville, NY, Diane (Phil) Leslie of Massena, NY, Larry (Jeannie) Wood of Dickinson Center, NY, and David H. Ray of Jacksonville, AR.

In keeping with Gerta's wishes, there will be no services held. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany, PA
