Smethport - Gloria K. Calhoun, 74, of Smethport, passed away Saturday (May 16, 2026) at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 4, 1952 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Ivan and Edith (Hess) Bickford. In 1969, she married David Allen Calhoun, Sr., who died April 5, 2012.

Gloria attended Smethport area schools and was employed at C.L. McKeirnan. Inc. of Smethport as a van driver for many years, transporting children.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by:

Two sons: David Calhoun, II of Smethport and Daniel Calhoun of Bradford

Three daughters: Stephany (Jim) Avery of Waterford, PA, Teresa (Chris) Stahli of Mt. Jewett, and Heather (Rob) Herbstritt of Gifford

ten grandchildren: Kyle, Brandi, Courtney, Kobe, Izaac, Laila, Cameron, Jared, Harley and Madison

eleven great grandchildren

two sisters: Georgia Starkweather of Elverson, PA and Paula Slobodnyak of Huntingdon, PA

one brother: Richard Bickford of Farmers Valley

and many nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by a daughter, Mindy Lynne Bickford, and a grandson, Travis Lee Field.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 11AM to 1PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral services will begin at 1PM with the Rev. Allen D. Young, Pastor of the East Smethport United Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
