Lakeland, FL--Delores "Jean" Baker, aged 91, went to meet the Lord on July 31, 2026.

She was born April 9, 1935, to the late Jesse and Leona Parker. She was a 1953 graduate of Otto High. She married James "Jim" Baker in 1954.

Jean helped run Baker's Collision from 1968 until the early 80's. She then worked at Olean General Hospital as a nurse's aide and ward nurse secretary on the maternity ward until her retirement in the late 90's. She also did live in home care after her retirement for several years before moving to Lakeland, FL to be near family, where she resided at the time of her passing.

Jean had an unending love for babies, children and any type of chocolate she could get her hands on. 

She was predeceased by Jesse, Leona and Jim.

She is survived by daughter Beverly Baker of Lakeland, FL, son Steven (Sheila) Baker of Folkston, GA, and son CJ (Dena) Baker of Winter Haven, FL.

She is also survived by granddaughters Leslie Prescott, Sabrina (Steven) Lee, Anna Baker, Nicole (Donald) Weaver, Sarah (Chris) McRae, Mary (Lucas) Nascimento, and grandson Joseph (Kayra) Baker; great grandchildren surviving are Destinee Deitz-Baker, Meronica (Collin) Rounsville, Anastacia (Andrew Dilling) Deitz, Amaya Prescott, Ian Lee, Amber Murrell, Avery Lee, Gracelyn Allen, Brynley Baker, and Alaina Baker; great-great grandson Donovan Ayers-Baker, and several nieces and nephews.

Jean will be remembered for her love of family, her caring nature and her special love for babies and chocolate.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, from 9-11AM, where funeral services will begin at 11AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Deb Mallory, officiating. Committal will be held in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove, PA.
