Obituary of Dorothy A. Bayline

Port Allegany - Dorothy A. Bayline, 98, of Port Allegany, passed away peacefully at the Sena Kean Manor in Smethport, PA on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born on Oct. 13, 1918 in West Hickory, PA, a daughter of Edgar A. and Alice V. Long. On August 22, 1938, in Port Allegany, she married Joseph V. Bayline, who passed away on November 5, 2009. She was a resident of Port Allegany since 1927. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed being a homemaker. Her hobbies were sewing, knitting and baking. She loved playing bridge and golfing in her later years. She was a member of the Port Allegany United Methodist Church. She was also a leader and member of the Anna Oral Circle and the Quilters of the church. She also taught Sunday School and was a youth leader for many years. Surviving are: two sons: Thomas E. (Joan) Bayline of Washington, PA and J. Michael (Kathie) Bayline of Port Allegany one daughter: Ann Marie (Dan) Fletcher of Worton, MD three Grandsons: Steven (Mary Ellen), Ronald (Jennifer), and Scott (Paula) Bayline one Granddaughter: Kimberly (Tracy) Anthony Great-Granddaughters: Haley Bayline, Amber and Kaitlyn Anthony and Mallory Bayline. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, one brother and one Grandson. At Dorothy's request, there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28 at 11:00 AM from the Port Allegany United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the S.W. Smith Library, Port Allegany or the Port Allegany United Methodist Church.
