Obituary of Mary L. Strutt

Smethport - Mary Louise Strutt, 85, of Smethport, passed away Tuesday (January 30, 2024) at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

 

She was born July 15, 1938 in Grampian, PA, the daughter of  Robert and Katherine Denver Crandell. She was married to Fred M. “Red” Strutt, who died on May 10, 2022.

 

Louise was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School.  She shared many wonderful years working alongside her family at Lindgren’s Variety Store in Smethport.

 

She attended Hilltop Baptist Church. Louise was very caring and loving and spent most of her time taking care of her family over the years.

 

She is survived by:

Four sons: Timothy (Sandra) Hahn of Smethport, Michael (Melody) Hahn of Big Pine Key, FL, Matthew (Sherilyn) Hahn of Blossburg, PA and Paul (Sondra) Hahn of Indiana, PA

Ten Grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren

Two brothers: Kenny and Bob

Four sisters: Pat, Bonnie, Barb and Alice

And many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son: Thomas Hahn, one brother: Ed Crandell, and a sister: Burt Lindgren.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10AM-Noon at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held at noon, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove.
