Obituary of Gloria A. Galentine

Smethport - Gloria A. Galentine, 72, of Turtlepoint, passed away unexpectedly, Friday (February 2, 2024) at Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford.

 

She was born July 30, 1951 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Alfred and Artie (Bells) Cochran. On October 26, 1968, Smethport, she married Robert R. Galentine, who survives.

 

Gloria worked at Sheetz for several years, then at Carlson’s Store in Turtlepoint, and lastly at Northern Tier Headstart as an aide.

 

She was a member of the Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460, was an auxiliary member of the Port Allegany Legion, and a member of the Birchgove Mennonite Church.  She was proud of being a grandmother and great grandmother, as her family was her whole world to her.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:

Four daughters: Sheila M. Hults of Turtlepoint, Tamie A. Nuhfer of Roulette, Kimberly S. Tanner of Turtlepoint and Bobbi L. Mead of Gifford

Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren

Two sisters: Bean Rodgers of Smethport and Sue Nichols of Bradford

And many nieces and nephews

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Butch and Bernie Cochran, two sisters: Margie Nye and Shirley Barnett.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 11AM-1PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM with the Rev. Dale Detweiler, officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
