Obituary of Kara Jo Towner

Smethport - Kara Jo Towner, 40, of Smethport, passed away Tuesday (February 20, 2024) at her residence.

She was born June 26, 1983 in Bradford, the daughter of Kent J. and Sharon (Shaffer) Towner.

Kara was a graduate of Smethport Area High School Class of 2001 and she loved dolphins, enjoyed gardening, art and playing jokes on people.

She is survived by her father, Kent Towner of Smethport; one daughter, McKenzie McCartney of Smethport; four sisters, Angela Davis (Matt) of Bradford, Jennifer Eaton of Kane, Kandice Towner of Laurel, MS, and Kortney Davis (Kyle) of Lewis Run, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Towner.

A celebration of Kara’s life will be held by the family.
