Obituary of Richard M. Cunningham

Smethport - RICHARD MICHAEL CUNNINGHAM of 190 West Branch Road, Smethport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born in Crosby, PA to William and Anna Cunningham, on October 2, 1954 he married Yuvona VanMort in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church of Smethport. Rich served in CO B 6th Inf. Regiment as a Sniper from 1951-1953 with pride and honor with each day of his life. He was a member of John Berg Memorial Post #976 for the past 63 years, Commander of Post #976 for 5 years, and was a member of VFW Post #2497 of Smethport. His love for his family, his country, his friends, baseball and hunting will be remembered. His quick wit, his smile and his loving heart will forever be a part of many. He is survived by one daughter, Deb Cunningham Wright, and her husband Fella, four grandchildren, Angie Fuller and her husband Eric, Rich Cunningham and his wife Jessica, Cody Wright and his wife Jessica and Jake Cunningham. Rich is also survived by six great grandchildren, Sean, Grace and Garrett Cunningham, Garrin and Aston Wright and Hunter Michael Fuller. Two sisters, Virginia Segulin and Dorothy Marsh and a sister in law Peg Cunningham. He was proceeded in death by his wife on Jan. 12, 2010, his son Gary on November 23, 2013, an infant daughter, Lori Ann, and an infant son, Robbi Michael. As per his request, there will be a private funeral. A celebration of his life will be held on February 27, at 5 PM at the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 of Crosby, PA.
