Obituary of Harold K. Lynch

Smethport - Harold K. Lynch, 86, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (September 17, 2017) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford. He was born Sept. 5, 1931 in East Smethport, a son of Raymond M. and Vera M. Putt Lynch. On Dec. 22, 1954, in Smethport, PA, he married Donna M. Earl, who died March 21, 1997. Mr. Lynch was a 1950 graduate of Smethport High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1950 to 1953, during the Korean Conflict. Harold worked for the Quaker State Refinery and Petrowax of Farmers Valley for 33 plus years, until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport, the Smethport Country Club, Smethport Sports Boosters, was a former Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball coach for many years, and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates Fan. Harold loved to play golf. He is survived by: three daughters: Sandra (Robin) Maynard of Smethport, Sharon (Lawrence) Linnan of Fredericksburg, VA, and Sue Lynch of Vancouver, WA two sons: Steven Lynch of Turtlepoint and James (Adele) Lynch of Tampa, FL three grandchildren: Jackie Good, Angie Simmons, and Krystal Glass four great-grandchildren: Donna Good, Tyler Simmons, Katy and Jaron Glass several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren one sister-in-law: Jane Lynch of OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and an infant niece. Visitation will be held on Thursday (Sept. 21) from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where services will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10:00 am, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor of St. Elizabeth Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138, Smethport. Memorials may be made to McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Ave., Bradford, PA 16701.
