Obituary of Mary Jane Snyder

Smethport - Mary Jane Snyder, 87, of Smethport, passed away Friday (April 13, 2018) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born July 27, 1930 in Clermont, PA, a daughter of Willard E. and Mary M. Rice Rounsville, Sr. On August 1, 1948, in Smethport, she married Walter B. Snyder, who died May 19, 2004. Mrs. Snyder attended Clermont schools and had worked in housekeeping at the Hamlin Bank for many years. She also worked at Lakeview Sr. Care & Living Center in Smethport and was co-owner of the Cyclone Service Station. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Smethport. Mary Jane was a home-body and loved to watch Westerns on television. She is survived by: two daughters: Audrey Irons of Gifford and Mary Brown of St. Petersburg, FL one son: John Snyder of Smethport four granddaughters and two grandsons two great granddaughters and five great grandsons two great-great granddaughters one sister: Virginia Canfield of Smethport one brother: Richard C. Rounsville of Smethport, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Rob Hernan, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Smethport, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
