Obituary of Elsie K. Murray

Smethport - Elsie K. Murray, 92, of Smethport, died Tuesday (December 3, 2013) in the Kane Community Hospital, Kane. She was born Oct 17, 1921 in Smethport, a daughter of Merle and Leora Ness Dickinson. On April 14, 1955, in Smethport, PA, she married Dr. William Murray, who died March 18, 1966. Mrs. Murray was a graduate of Smethport High School and attended Rochester Secretarial School. She had been a secretary for the Clermont Brick Co., Clermont, worked as secretary for attorney Guy Mayo in Smethport, and ultimately had worked as switchboard operator at the McKean County Courthouse. She is survived by: one daughter: Christina Murray of Roulette, PA two sons: William Murray, Jr. of Blairsville, GA and David Murray of St. Cloud, FL six grandchildren: Orry, Gabriel and Cassidy all of Roulette, PA; Donna, Constance and Joshua of Florida six great grandchildren: Colin, Taya, Austin, Auburn, Kylee and Rylee In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister. In accordance with Elsie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Memorials, if desired, can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
