Obituary of Roy W. Robertson

Smethport - Roy W. Robertson, 81, of Smethport, formerly of Cyclone, PA, died Saturday (December 14, 2013) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. He was born Nov. 15, 1932 in Franklin, PA, a son of Roland and Jannette Schwab Robertson. On May 29, 1952, in the First Methodist Church, Olean, NY, he married Marlene E. Carter, who survives. Mr. Robertson was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School and had worked at Bovaird & Seyfang Co. and Dresser Manufacturing, both of Bradford, PA, and ultimately worked for the Quaker State Oil Refinery of Farmers Valley, PA, from where he retired. He was a former member of the Smethport Country Club and loved golfing, fishing, woodworking, and puzzles. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one daughter: Lisa (Bill) Bailey of Smethport, PA one son: David (Theresa) Robertson of Eldred, PA 7 grandchildren: Heather, Misty, Shawn, Shane, Melissa, Matthew, and Miranda 16 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren one sister: Carol Robertson of Franklin, PA one brother: Dick Covington of Franklin, PA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn K. Robertson. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 11:00 am from the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Mt Jewett.
