Obituary of Maxine E. Nawrocki

Smethport - Maxine Elaine Nawrocki, 76, of Erie, died Wednesday (December 25, 2013) in UPMC-Hamot, Erie. She was born July 3, 1937 in Farmers Valley, PA, a daughter of Jack and Anna Mae Brown Hewitt. In August of 1958, she married William Sechrist, Jr. In November of 1966, she married Richard Nawrocki. Mrs. Nawrocki was a 1955 graduate of Smethport Area High School. She had worked in the accounting department of the Erie Resistor Corporation and other places until her retirement in 1992 due to ill health. Maxine was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening, soap operas, and her cats. She is survived by: one sister: Phyllis Green of Smethport one brother: Thomas (Linda) Hewitt, Sr. of Smethport step son, William Sechrist of Conneaut Lake, PA, and her “adopted son”, Brad Pence of Erie. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Jean Hewitt, and several Aunts and Uncles. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-3 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will begin at 3 PM Sunday, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, officitating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
