It truly was a pleasure to get to know Mary and care for her over the past couple of years. She always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh....her kids and grandkids were her life! The quilts she made were beautiful and she loved showing of her pictures of the family. Thoughts and prayers to you Pam and all the family.

I was the Head Start Teacher in Coudersport when Freda taught in Emporium. I have a lot of good memories of her during the times that we were together during trainings. My co worker and I also visited her at her home one summer. She was a nice person and I respected her both personally and professionally. It is ironic that for the past year for some reason I have been thinking of her a lot and wondered about her life after retirement. I even tried to find a phone number for her but never came up with a valid one. I would have loved being able to connect with her. I am so sorry that she had to suffer with cancer and know that it must have been hard for all of you to go through it with her. She was a special lady and I know she will be missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have so many thought and memories of Freda that I don't know where to start or stop at. She was like a 2nd mom to me. I am so glad I got to know her when I was growing up in Emporium. She was one of the most patient, caring, and loving people I have ever met in all my life. A piece of my heart is now missing. I know you are not suffering any more and are in Gods arms. I love you and will miss even more.

I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing your mother over 30 years ago. Her family, I believe, is what meant the most to her. I'm sure she was filled with joy as it grew over the years. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead.

I can only speak of her son's character. Knowing how John McDowell carries himself and how his heart extends out to folks. I only see how Mary Freda Griffith is behind her son's upcoming for the man that he is.
Rest in peace
