Obituary of Gary Lee Russell

Port Allegany - Gary Lee Russell, 62, of Smethport, died Monday (January 13, 2014) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford. He was born Aug. 26, 1951 in Port Allegany, a son of Nelson and Norma June Austin Russell. Mr. Russell was a 1970 graduate of Bradford High School. He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force, serving during Vietnam from 1971 to 1974. Gary had worked for the Maryland Dept. of Transportation. In addition to his mother, he is survived by: one sister: Robin (Dan) Coman of Annapolis, MD one brother: Barry A. (Olga) Russell of Churchton, MD and several nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson, on May 10, 2011. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 A.M., with the Rev. James Kazimer, pastor of the First Church of God of Eldred, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Farmers Valley. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard.
