Obituary of Lesley A. Black

Smethport - Lesley A. Black, 48, of Smethport, died Sunday (January 26, 2014) in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. She was born Dec. 13, 1965 in Clarion, a daughter of Patricia A. Sporer Walter and Duane V. Schmader.  On September 8, 2008, in Myrtle Beach, SC, she married Paul E. Black, who survives. Mrs. Black was a 1984 graduate of Clarion Junior/Senior High School and attended Robert Morris College.  She had been employed as a legal secretary for the Hollenbeck law office of Bradford, and later was secretary in the District Attorney’s office at the McKean County Courthouse.  She currently was a housewife tending to her family’s needs at home. She was a member of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority of Robert Morris College, and enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, and creating special things for family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: Her mother: Patricia A. Walter of Conway, SC Her father and step mother: Duane V. (Melinda) Schmader of Tylersburg, PA one daughter: Amanda N. (Matthew) Kaziska of Smethport, PA one son: Zachary S. (Rebecca) Ganoe of Ft. Meade, MD a step son: Tyler E. Black of Smethport, PA two step daughters: Stephanie L. Black and Morgan A. Black, both of Smethport, PA two grandchildren: Jonah S. Ganoe and Lucas C. Kaziska two sisters: Nanette M. Schmader of Conway, SC and Gretta L. (Matthew) Mazzarella of Raeford, NC two brothers: Duane V. Schmader, Jr. of Tylersburg, PA and Joseph M. (Mary) Schmader of Sigel, PA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her step father, William Walter. There will be no visitation.  A Blessing service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 10 A.M., at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, officiating.  Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
