Obituary of Ethel L. Keyser Brown

Smethport- Ethel L. Keyser Brown, 93, of Painted Post, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday (February 3, 2009) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born Nov 24, 1915 in Lafayette, PA, a daughter of Irvine A. and Flora Bell Jeffords Keyser. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Hazel Hurst High School and had worked in the Smethport High School cafeteria. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting, baking bread, reading, traveling and visiting her sisters in Kane, PA. She loved to share recipes, knitting patterns and books with her sisters, and she will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by two daughters: Jo Ellen (Norman) Cook of Painted Post, NY, Linda (Lynn) Kepler of Lititz, PA 5 grandchildren: Mark McNaney of Corning, NY; Stacey Kepler of Lititz, PA; Jacob Kepler of Henderson, NV; Sara Kepler of Brandon, FL; Alexandra Kepler of Lititz, PA 2 great grandsons: Jake M. McNaney and Logan McNaney, both of Corning, NY. three sisters: Alice Coleman of Kane, PA, Marion Larsen of Kane, PA, Kay Keyser of Kane, PA and several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Josephus O. "Joe" Brown, one son, Stephen M. Brown, and grandsons Michael Z. McNaney and Sean J. McNaney At the family's request, there will be no visitation. Graveside memorial services will be announced at a later date by the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
