Obituary of Dorothy L. Long

Smethport - Dorothy Lynn Long, 66, of Crosby, died unexpectedly in the loving care of her family Thursday evening(October 25, 2012) at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. She was born March 6, 1946 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of Paul and Althea Higby Patterson. On May 8, 1967, in Sittville, NY, she married Charles A. Long, who survives. Mrs. Long was a graduate of South Lewis Central School in Turin, NY. She was in the first graduating class of the school in 1964. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: three daughters: Melissa L. (Chip Martin) Long of Cyclone, Wendy (Jeff) Neatrour of Crosby, and Jessica (Steve) Gustin of Eldred. Seven grandchildren: Matthew, Justin, Andy, Ashley, Lacey, Tyler and Zac. Four great-grandchildren: Jonah, Payton, Lucas and Greyson Two sisters: Paula J. (Bill) Linihan and Carol L. (Leonard) Strife Two brothers: Brian D. (Marilyn) Patterson and Bruce O. (Teresa) Patterson And nineteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. Funeral and committal services will be held Monday, October 29 at 11:00 am, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
