Obituary of Charles D. Zimmerman

Port Allegany - Charles D. Zimmerman, 83, of Port Allegany, died Sunday (October 28, 2012) in the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford. He was born Feb 27, 1929 in Reynoldsville, a son of Charles and Grace A. Jones Zimmerman. He was married to Theresa Hoffman on July 19, 1969, in Port Allegany. Mr. Zimmerman attended Reynoldsville schools. He was a PFC in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1946 to 1947. Mr. Zimmerman was a Machinist, employed by Control Chief of Lewis Run, PA, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Reynoldsville, PA and the Coudersport Consistory. He is survived by his children: Michael (Suzanne) Zimmerman of Newtown, CT, Charles E. (Emilee Vickery) Zimmerman and Michele Zimmerman, both of Port Allegany, PA Duane "Skip" (Helen) Zimmerman and Denny (Mel) Zimmerman, both of DuBois, PA Dorothy Pike of Greenfield, WI; Daryl Zimmerman of Elyria, OH, and Candace Myers of Beaver Falls, PA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren One brother: James Zimmerman of Reynoldsville, PA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Dwight Zimmerman. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 3 at 11:00 am from the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 Main St., Port Allegany, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Port Allegany Star Hose Co. #1.
