Obituary of Carl W. Rosenswie

Smethport - Carl W. “Bud” Rosenswie, 71, of Smethport, passed away Tuesday (December 15, 2020) in the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford.

 

He was born April 21, 1949 in Kane, PA, a son of Edward and Florence Ohman Rosenswie.

 

Mr. Rosenswie was a graduate of Smethport High School and attended Clarion University where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.

 

Mr. Rosenswie was the Principal and teacher at the Hazel Hurst Elementary School.  He then was an elementary school teacher at the Smethport Elementary School, from where he retired, with over 30 years of total teaching in his career.

 

“Mr. R’s” compassion was second to none for his students, and that is why he was loved so much.

 

“Bud” was a Devout Catholic, being a member of St. Elizabeth Church in Smethport.  He was a radio station host for WQRFM, an avid outdoorsman, and was a life-long Buffalo Bills fan.  He enjoyed spending time with his family at camp.

 

He is survived by:

One sister:  Cecilia Rosenswie Megivern

One brother:  Jack (Marilyn) Rosenswie

One nephew:  Paul

Five nieces:  Kim, Kelly, Kristi, Erika and Elise

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation or services at this time.  Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport.
