Obituary of Shirley Ann Moore
Smethport - Shirley Ann Moore, 83, of Clermont, passed away Tuesday (December 22, 2020) in the Lutheran Home at Kane.
She was born Sept. 4, 1937 in Drummond, PA, a daughter of James Franklin and Nellie Byrd Bennett Thompson. On Aug. 2, 1952, in Mt. Jewett, PA, she married Kenneth G. "Red" Moore, who died on Sept. 24, 2009.
Mrs. Moore attended Smethport schools and worked as a seamstress for the Ethan Allen Corp. in Eldred, PA.
Shirley enjoyed square dancing with her husband, Ken, and bred and showed Collie dogs. She had been an active member of the Port Allegany, Smethport and Bradford community libraries.
Shirley is survived by:
One son: Kenneth G. “Bud” (Lori) Moore, Jr. of Eldred
Two daughters: Cheryl (Paul) Button of Rixford and Patricia Miller of Clermont
Six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren
One brother: Donald (Chelle) Thompson of Newfane, NY
And several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James, and one sister, Edna.
At Shirley’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Clermont Cemetery.
