Obituary of Thomas Andrew Gault

Smethport - Thomas Andrew Gault, 57, of Smethport, passed away Thursday (December 24, 2020) at his residence, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Nov. 20, 1963 in Bradford, a son of William and Martha Johnson Gault.

Tom was a 1981 graduate of Smethport High School.

Tom worked for Costa’s Supermarket while in high school and for a while after graduating.  He then worked for Quaker State of Farmers Valley, now International Waxes, up until his illness, for over 35 years.

Tom enjoyed having a parent-like role in the lives of his nephews early on in their lives.  He continued that throughout the lives of his great nieces and nephews as well.  He introduced many in the family to a variety of activities and was their greatest fan in the sports they were members of.  Tom enjoyed family, friends, golf outings, television sports and “getting a chuckle out of anyone”.

Tom’s dog, “Dakota” was usually at his side for walks on the Shawmut, cross country skiing, or alongside Tom during bike rides.

He is survived by:

One sister:  Mischelle (Randy) Heffner of Ormsby

Two brothers:  Robert Gault of Bradford and Gregory Gault of Cyclone

Nieces and nephews:  Jeremy and Dustin (Shalene) Jacoby, Rob Gault, Jennifer Gault, Shawna Gault, and Rachelle Heffner

Great-nieces and great-nephews:  Kaiden, Colten, Cameron and Zane Jacoby, Ethan Edwards, Maddison, Mackenzie, Waylon and Lydia Gault

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Christine G. Jacoby.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10-11AM at the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette Twp.
