Obituary of Roy Richard Foster
Smethport - Roy Richard Foster, 82, of Farmers Valley, passed away Sunday (December 27, 2020) in Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford.
He was born Nov. 7, 1938 in Olean, a son of Robert and Mary Kenyon Foster. On June 14, 1958, in Shinglehouse, PA, he married Martha C. Jackson, who survives.
Mr. Foster was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School. He worked for Quaker State, then Petrowax (now International Waxes) of Farmers Valley, PA, in the lab for over 30 years, retiring in 2000.
Roy was a member of the Coleville Christian Gospel Church. He enjoyed gardening, motorcycles, boating, and water skiing.
In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by:
One son: Steven Roy (Robin) Foster of Findlay, OH
Two daughters: Gay Annette (Patrick) Hughes of Mt. Jewett, PA and Janet Kay (Joseph) Nolan of Pittsburgh
Eight grandchildren: Lisa, Laura, Samantha, Shannon, Jarod, Benjamin, Matthew and Nicholas
Five great-grandchildren: Dani, Natalie, Zachary, Carson and Bryce
And several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Foster.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at a later date in the near future.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
