Obituary of Arvil E. Haggard

Smethport - Arvil E. Haggard, 69, of Kane, formerly of Smethport and Port Allegany, died Tuesday (January 12, 2021) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

He was born June 5, 1951 in Coudersport, a son of Joseph O. and Bonnie C. Dowell Haggard.

Arvil worked at all different kinds of trades and jobs over the years.  He put it best when he said, “I was a ‘Jack of All Trades’ ”.

He is survived by:

One son:  Jesse Lee Haggard of Smethport

Three daughters:  Sandra King of Franklinville, NY, Tammy LaBar of Tennessee and Mary Sirline of Bradford.

12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

One brother:  Joe Haggard of Port Allegany

Two sisters:  Rita Skillman of Eldred and Dorothy Lannanger of Crosby.

And many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David Haggard of Port Allegany, three sisters, Mary Shatley of Turtle Point, Hattie Prosser of Mt.Jewett and Annalou Haggard of Indiana.

As per Arvil’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. However, there will be a celebration of life/ memorial service at a later date that will be posted, due to COVID-19.
