Obituary of Kenneth G. McKillip

Lindley, NY – Kenneth G. McKillip, 81, of Lindley, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at his home in Lindley surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 15, 1939 in Richardsville, PA, a son of Elton F. and Zelma L. Lindemuth McKillip.  On October 29, 2018, in Lindley, NY, he married Bonnie Kay O’Connor, who survives him.

Mr. McKillip was a graduate of Port Allegany High School Class of 1958 and attended Corning Community College.  Mr. McKillip was a New York State Trooper from 1963-1983.  He was also owner and proprietor of McKillip’s Restaurant, McKillip’s Catering, and the Sit-N-Bull Pub in Painted Post, NY.  Mr. McKillip was a Veteran serving in the US Navy, both active and Reserves, and retired from the US Navy Reserves in October 2000. 

In addition to his wife, Mr. McKillip is survived by two sons:  Jeffrey (Tammy) McKillip of Beaver Dams, NY, and Patrick (Kathy) McKillip of Elmira Heights, NY; nine grandchildren: Jessica Cleary, Matthew Peters, Taylor Darmstadt Howels, Alecia McKillip, Kevin Quackenbush, Shauna Quackenbush, Kenneth McKillip, Matthew Phillips and Jessie Horton, several great grandchildren, and his loyal K-9 companion, Ben.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Ronald McKillip, and one sister, Janet Mowery.

Private visitation and services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Home, Inc., Port Allegany, PA, with the Rev. James Campbell, Pastor of the St. Gabriel’s Church, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Port Allegany.
