Obituary of Sylvia Leona Slaugenhaupt

Smethport - Sylvia Leona Slaugenhaupt, 72, of Smethport, formerly of Mt. Jewett, passed away Sunday (April 11, 2021) at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

She was born December 6, 1948 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Ray and Leona Marie Buck Roberts.  On July 17, 1971, In Mt. Jewett, she married Chester E. "Bud" Slaugenhaupt, who died July 21, 2013.

Mrs. Slaugenhaupt was a graduate of Smethport High School and had worked many years as nurse's aide in the area. 

She enjoyed reading and had been involved with the Hamlin Twp. Fire Dept. with her husband.

She is survived by:

One sister:  Karen L. Reinard of Hazelhurst

Two nieces:  Kim Hansen and Tonya Morris

One nephew:  Tom Morris

And several great-nieces and great-nephews, along with several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3-5 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral services will be held at 5 PM with the Rev. Cam Mealy, officiating.   Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery, Mt. Jewett.  Current COVID-19 masking and distancing precautions will be followed.
