Obituary of Beverly J. Tarbox

Port Allegany - Beverly J. Tarbox, 79, of Coudersport, passed away Thursday (January 13, 2022) after a brief illness.

 

She was born April 27, 1942 in Coudersport, the daughter of Clayton Kellogg and Joyce (Kistner) Kellogg. On September 2, 1961, in Roulette, PA, she married James C. Tarbox, who passed away on October 10, 2021.  They had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

 

Bev was a 1960 graduate of Port Allegany High School.  She was a telephone operator and later an Avon representative for many years.  Most recently, she and her husband co-owned the Foote Rest Campground until they retired.

 

She enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, camping, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family.  She was a dedicated caregiver for her youngest daughter and her husband until their passing.

 

Bev is survived by a daughter, Susan (David) Reese of Coudersport, a son, Robert (Kelly) Tarbox of Port Allegany, her grandchildren, Kristin (Brett) Drugg of Turtlepoint, Justin (Manda) Crowley, US Army, Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, NC, Heidi (Brody Vasko) Reese of Austin, and Keely and Ethan Tarbox, both of Port Allegany.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Cayden and Carter Drugg of Turtlepoint and Nathan and Layla Crowley of Fayetteville, NC.  Other survivors include an Aunt, Katherine Kistner of Brook Park, OH, a brother, Carl (Phyllis) Kellogg and a sister, Grace Stuckey, both of Florida, sister and best friend, Mary Brown of Port Allegany, along with sister in laws Jackie Tarbox of Roulette and Gayle Tarbox of Gifford, and Rebecca Mingo of Port Allegany, and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Bev was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kay “Debbie” Tarbox and a brother, “Dick” Kellogg.

 

Bev leaves her family with broken hearts, but with loving memories that will last forever.

 

Private visitation and funeral services will be held with the family.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
