McQuillen, 84, of Port Allegany, died Tuesday (December 1, 2009) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.He was born Sep 25, 1925 in Bastress, PA, the son of Claude and Elizabeth Engel McQuillen, Sr. He married Bernice M. Babcock and later he married Ida J. McIver, who died Jan. 23, 2008.He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII.Mr. McQuillen was a foreman in the foam glass department at Pittsburgh Corning Corp.Mr. McQuillen was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic ChurchHe was a member of Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460, Port Allegany, PA and He was a life member and past president of the VFW Post 6391, Port Allegany, PA, and was a life member of the American Legion Frank Burt Post #258, Port AlleganyHe is survived bythree daughters: Donna (Robert) Culton of Williamsport, PA, Deborah (Robert) Glace of Montoursville, PA, and Mona Lee Fowler of Port Allegany, PA Three brothers: Gerard McQuillen, Ardell McQuillen, Claude McQuillen, Jr. all of Williamsport, PAThree grandchildren and 2 great grandchildrenHe was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, George McQuillen and a sister Rita Engel.Visitation will be held on Friday from 10AM to 12 noon at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA, where funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. James Campbell, pastor of St. Gabriel's Church officiating.
