Obituary of Mona C. Budd

Port Allegany - Mona C. Budd, 81, of Port Allegany, passed away Sunday (April 10, 2022) at UPMC Cole with her family by her side.

She was born December 29, 1940 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Clausnitzer)Thompson. On September 16, 1961 in Castle Shannon, PA, she married Richard L. Budd, who died June 25, 2002.

Mrs. Budd was a graduate of Mt. Lebenon High School. She worked for Prudential Insurance Co. and D.E. Errick Co. in Port Allegany. Mrs. Budd  then worked for the Port Allegany High School as secretary for the guidance office for 17 years, retiring in 1997. In addition, she also worked for her husband’s contracting business for 30 years.

Mona was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Allegany.

She is survived by:

One daughter: Cindy (Jeffrey) Kazimer of Coudersport, PA

three sons: Greg (Melynda) Budd of Port Allegany, Dale Budd of Peach Bottom, PA, and Marc (Traci) Budd  Port Allegany

Five grandchildren: Ben (Savanah) Capatch, Tony (Zoey) Capatch, Nicholas (Amanda) Budd, Ethan Budd, and Brielle Budd.

Two great granchildren:  Lane and Autumn

One sister Marilyn (Jim) Lindner of Drumore, PA, and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, from 9:30-11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Port Allegany, where a memorial service will begin at 11 AM, with the Rev Garen Smith, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairwiew Cemetery, Port Allegany.
